What does the weekend mean to you? When you hear the word weekend what is your first thought? Are you a TGIF kind of person? Do you make plans for the weekend and do you keep them? Or do you let come what may? Or a little of both.
How many days is your weekend?
Because I live in Israel my weekend is a day, in general, from a bit before sundown Friday to sunset Saturday. It is a day set aside for prayer, festival meals, family, and rest. It is a time to say no to media, no to social media, no to work.
It is a time to touch base with the inner you.
As you go forward into your weekend look back into your week. What were your gifts this week? Do any of your challenges stand out? What presents were most significant? What beauty did you see and what did you learn?
Give a synopsis of your week, what you would like to see more of next week, what you would like to change next week, what you regret and what makes you happy. Try to use this write up to inform your week to come, at least a little bit, to institute one change (set it as a challenge) to make your life more harmonious.
And however you pass your weekend for however many days, enjoy!
