Almost done with my journal
Feb. 13th, 2019 12:18 pmNot the blog, the one I'm keeping beside me at all times.
So yesterday I went out shopping for a new one.
I am so picky.
Color, paper quality (I have been drawing a lot and the way paper feels and absorbs the ink is important), size.
I couldn't decide. I went back and forth a number of times between the section of the store which had sketch pads, and thus notebooks which weren't lined, and the writing section with notebooks which were lined.
These were bigger, but these were nicer. Finally, I decided on a small, purple, purse sized one, figuring I can use a double page spread for my formatted section, and the next pages over for drawing and writing.
Were I able to design my own journal, it would have a means to clip in pages, and allow me to choose different papers for different needs. Graph paper for making room layouts or graphs or other types of data, plain paper for my formatted sections, so I could have a free hand in how to layout each section, lined paper on which to write.
I have in mind a format, but have yet to find the means to accomplish what I want to do.
What does your journal look like? Why did you make the selection you did? What works and what doesn't work? What is the perfect journal for you? How important is the look and style of the writing to you?
